Caught this io9 post on Heinlein's Rules of Writing. Once again, a thumbs-down on Rule #3.
I talked about this a while back and I believe it's still the case.
Heinlein's referring to the trap of over-rewriting, not the actual process of revision. In other words, write the story, edit/polish/revise/rewrite, then FFS stop repeatedly fondling the damn thing and get it out to market.
