And just a comment on Proven Guilty, the previous book in the series...
Good, solid read, just like the others. I loved when Harry started quoting from Aliens whilst taking on a nasty beastie.
My one problem was this bit. Rawlins, a cop, is talking to Harry during the aftermath of an encounter with some critters at a convention. Rawlins says:
Some of the civilians were carrying. That howling thing went by in the dark and everyone panicked....Civilians opened fire, cops opened fire...Emphasis mine.
I'm sorry. This is supposed to be Chicago, right? Daley's city? Mr. Richard "I Want to shove a gun up your ass" Daley?
Sorry, but that bit kicked me out of the book.
Of course, after a bit of careful consideration, if your version of Chicago allows for licensed carry for citizens, hell, I'm for it.
Needless to say, that was just a small bump on the road. I finished reading.
